Constipation.  Can you relate?  If so, let’s talk….

Constipation is your body telling you it cannot breakdown or digest some of the food you eat.

Constipation also indicates you are not consuming enough high fiber foods or water needed to move the food you eat through your digestive tract – and out the other end.

Our bodies are always talking to us.  We just need to listen.

The combination of high fiber foods and water is magical on the body.

It is recommended we eat 25-35 grams of fiber every day.

High fiber foods include fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, whole grains.  You know, the same real, whole foods we are encouraged to eat daily for optimal health, energy, ideal weight, and help in preventing disease.  High fiber food, along with water, on a regular basis, produces very moving results.

Water is also crucial for our health.  We cannot survive without it, and most of our body’s functions depend on water.

How much water do we need every day?

An easy rule of thumb is half your body weight in ounces (i.e. at 150lbs, half is 75, divided by 8oz/glass = 9+ glasses of water/day).

Water is the most important, but if you need a little help reaching your daily goal, you can also count the water you get from fruit, vegetables, soups, and juice you consume.

How can you work high fiber foods into your diet?  Use the high fiber foods listed above in smoothies, salads, soups, snacks, side dishes, main dishes, and even desserts.

Be conscious of what you eat – and how your body responds to these foods.  All foods do not work the same in every body.

Once you identify the right foods for you, constipation will be a memory of the past.
